MEGITZA QUINTET

From the event website: Coming from a Polish Highlander family of musical traditions, a singer and a double bass player Megitza puts on a fiery live performance with her quintet. Highlander fiddle accompanied by a button accordion and an acoustic guitar join together in a virtuosity medleys sung by three vocals, all backed by an ethnic percussion set as the heartbeat of this band. At the age of 16, on her own Megitza left Poland and moved to Chicago, where in 2008 she started her music career. In 2012 she moved back to Europe and has been performing internationally ever since in Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Lithuania, Croatia, Slovakia, and Armenia. Megitza's music consists of Polish traditional and her own compositions, arranged in an unique style, that has been warmly reviewed by music critics from all over the world.
MEGITZA HAS RELEASED 8 FULL LENGTH ALBUMS AND 4 SINGLES.
Notable performances: Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), Jazz Fest Vienn (Austria), Woodstock Festival (Poland), Sounds of Peace (Armenia), Rudolstadt Festival (Germany), Jay Pritzker Pavilion (USA), Chicago World Music Festival, and Festiwal Folkloru Ziem Górskich (Zakopane, Poland).
